Natural Eyesight

Through my recent research, I've found many resources stating that vision disorders such as myopia (near-sightedness), hyperopia (far-sightedness), even astigmatism or presbyopia (aging vision) can be completely cured or drastically improved without the use of corrective methods such as glasses, contacts, or eye surgery.

Sugar Hair Remover Application

Once you've made your Homemade Sugar Hair Remover, here's how you apply it.

Sugar Hair Remover

Hairy, Sweet & Bitter...Oh my!

I've shaved, waxedepilated, and even Nair-ed (before I was mature enough to care how unhealthy the chemicals were). When I shave, the hair grows back within a day and it grows coarser and denser. Once I became pregnant, I finally knocked the Nair and Veet habit and began waxing all those hard to reach areas. The results of waxing were wonderful, but was short lived when my budget's primary bill became "Kids." Lastly, I resorted to epilating, which was, in my opinion, more painful than waxing. However, it fit the bill; I no longer had to buy razors regularly and I still had the long lasting results I received with waxing. But I soon found myself back to buying razors because every time I thought of the epilator, I could feel a sting in the hair follicles of my legs!

My formula for effective hair removal = Little or no pain + low cost + long lasting results...

My solution has finally found me...Homemade sugar hair remover!

Baby Acne

The wonderful power of herbs...

Baby Bath Herbal Mixture by Bulk Herb Store

My uses: Baby acne, Diaper rash, Soothing bath, Cleansing baby bath, Cleansing hair rinse...and more

Before my daughter was born, I had never heard of the term Baby Acne. When she was about a few weeks old, her skin began to break out in little red bumps. They were on her face, back, shoulders...everywhere. My initial thoughts were that it was either the soap I was bathing her with (which at the time was Burt's Bees Baby Bee Shampoo & Wash) or the laundry detergent (Charlie's Soap) I was using. Turns out, it was neither, it was a condition named Baby Acne. I was assured by my midwife and pediatrician that the outbreak was neither irritating or harmful to her. The worst harm it was doing was it's physical appearance; it was simply unattractive. I was told it was something that would just subside in a few weeks or months and no medication was necessary although a cream could be prescribed. I'm not a fan of medication, so in an attempt to use the most gentle cleansing method to bath her in to prevent further irritating her skin, I went to my favorite online herb store, Bulk Herb Store. There is where I found the Baby Bath herbal mix. It is a mixture of lavender flowers, rosemary, rose petals, and yarrow flowers.

Homemade Deodorant

Most commercial "deodorants" are actually antiperspirants. An antiperspirant is a substance that prevents or reduces perspiration. I think the "anti" part pretty much makes that definition obvious, but what's not so obvious is how toxic this is to our bodies.

Our bodies have unique ways to get rid of wastes and toxins. One of those unique methods happens to be perspiration. Thus, if you prevent or reduce your body from perspiring, you are preventing or reducing your body from releasing toxins. Simply put.

Another misunderstood concept is that sweaty = stinky. Not true. Just like bad breath, it is bacteria that causes the smell, not the sweat. Bacteria feeds on the moist area, thus creating "the funk." ;-)

So let's perspire, release toxins, and remove bacteria; thus, creating a safe, effective, socially accepted (it's true no one wants to smell you) alternative to anti-perspirants...Here's the recipe as to how:

UPDATE: I use an even easier recipe now, view it here.

Homemade Moisturizer

This 2-in-1 moisturizer can be used on dry hair or skin. It is extremely beneficial for dry feet and frequently washed hands. It is moisturizing and does not leave a residue or greasy feeling once absorbed.

I can honestly say I will never buy lotion or hair moisturizer again. I may change up the recipe a little every now in then, if I feel the need to, but this has definitely become a keeper for me.
